Hi, I’m Nina. Pet Nanny grew from my desire to spend more of my time doing what I have always loved most—caring for animals. I find it genuinely rewarding to get to know each pet as an individual and provide the thoughtful, dependable care I would want for my own.
For me, accepting a new client is more than adding another booking to a diary. It means getting to know your pets, understanding what is normal for them and becoming someone you can genuinely rely on. By limiting the number of bookings I accept, I leave room to give pets extra time when they need reassurance, respond thoughtfully when circumstances change and accommodate additional support where possible, while also keeping a careful eye on your home during your time away.
I bring many years of hands-on animal husbandry experience, including caring for companion pets, small animals, working sheepdogs, livestock and smallholding animals. I have worked on farms as both a shepherd and herdsman, previously worked with the RSPCA and have knowledge of pet first aid.
That broad experience has taught me to observe carefully, remain calm when something does not seem quite right and adapt my approach to the individual pet in front of me. Good pet care is about far more than completing a checklist; it is about noticing small changes, respecting boundaries and preserving the familiar routines that help pets feel safe and settled.
Earlier in my working life, I worked in protective services, where responsibility, awareness and respect for people and property were essential. That experience continues to shape the way I work today. I understand the trust involved in giving someone access to your home, and I treat your keys, property and privacy with care and discretion.
My aim is simple: for you to leave home confident that your pets are in capable, caring hands, and return knowing they have received patient, consistent and genuinely attentive care in the place they feel safest—their own home.
Arrange Your Complimentary Meet & GreetPet Nanny was inspired by Ben—my working partner, constant companion and deeply loved member of our family.
Ben spent many happy years working sheep before enjoying five well-earned years of retirement as a much-loved family dog. Intelligent, determined and wonderfully headstrong, he had a personality that was impossible to ignore and a way of making his presence felt in every part of our lives.
On 6 June 2026, Ben passed away peacefully in his sleep, without suffering.
His loss changed the feeling of home. The places once filled by his footsteps, companionship and familiar routines suddenly felt painfully quiet. Nothing could ever replace him, but I knew I wanted the patience, devotion and love we had shared to continue in a meaningful way.
Pet Nanny grew from that wish.
It became a commitment to give other pets the same thoughtful, dependable and deeply personal attention I would have wanted for Ben—to understand their routines, respect their individual personalities and make sure they feel safe, settled and genuinely cared for while their owners are away.
Pet Nanny is Ben’s legacy: a way for the love he brought into my life to continue through every pet I have the privilege of caring for.
Every pet is different, which is why I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.
During the meet and greet, we will create your pet’s Personal Care Profile together. This records the important details that help me understand your pet properly, including routines, personality, feeding, health, medication, veterinary information, home access and any individual preferences or concerns.
The profile helps me provide care that is familiar, consistent and tailored to your pet, while making sure important information is clearly recorded before your booking begins.
Your pet’s Personal Care Profile can be updated whenever their needs or routine change.
Straightforward pricing, agreed before your booking is confirmed.
Final pricing reflects your location, pets, routines and agreed requirements.

Although I have extensive experience caring for both dogs and poultry, I have chosen not to offer these services because their welfare and safety often require a different type or frequency of care than Pet Nanny is designed to provide.
Dogs may need more continuous companionship, exercise, interaction, toilet opportunities and reassurance than brief home visits can provide over an extended absence. I encourage owners to consider a trusted live-in sitter, suitable licensed home boarding, a reputable boarding kennel or care with someone their dog already knows.
Poultry are particularly vulnerable to predators and may require more frequent or on-site care, alongside secure housing, reliable locking-up routines and appropriate biosecurity. I therefore recommend dedicated poultry care or support from someone able to attend more frequently.
This is a deliberate welfare-led decision, not a reflection of my experience. Pet Nanny focuses on cats, small pets, reptiles, suitable companion birds, livestock and smallholding animals, where carefully planned home visits are a suitable fit.
Yes. Pet Nanny is a home-visiting service. Your pets remain in their familiar environment and are looked after according to their usual routine.
Please enquire. I have broad hands-on experience across many companion pets, birds, reptiles, livestock and smallholding species, and will always be honest about whether I am the right fit.
Yes. Visit updates and photographs can be provided as agreed, so you know how your pets are getting on.
I will always be honest. Where possible, I will recommend another trusted local provider who may be better suited to your needs.
I may use a visible body-worn camera during visits for personal safety, safeguarding and accountability. It will never be used covertly, and I will explain its use before care begins.
Any footage will be handled securely, retained only for an appropriate period and never used for advertising or social media without separate permission. Further details are available in the Privacy Policy.
Each visit will be guided by your pet’s Personal Care Profile, created with you during the meet and greet. This allows me to follow their usual routines, understand their individual needs and provide support that feels familiar, consistent and personal.
I’ll treat your pet as if they were my own, giving them the time, attention and reassurance they need while respecting their individual personality and boundaries.
There is no fixed time limit for a meet and greet. I will allow enough time for us to discuss your pets, their routines and any important care needs without making the appointment feel rushed.
If you are short on time, we can focus on the essential information during the visit and complete any remaining parts of your pet’s Personal Care Profile afterwards.
